Arriving in Abu Simbel
The tour culminates finally in the awe-inspiring destination of Abu Simbel. Nubia, the beautiful and austere land that once linked Egypt and black Africa, now lies beneath the world’s largest artificial lake – Lake Nasser. Along its shores, the Abu Simbel Temples stand as one of the most remarkable monuments in Egypt, second only to the Pyramids of Giza.
In sum, Ramses II built these colossal rock-cut temples, marking the southern border of the Egyptian Empire with Nubia at the height of its power during the New Kingdom. In the 1960s, the temples were relocated to higher ground to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. They still convey the spirit of a great era that has stood the test of time.

Day 1: Aswan - Kalabsha - Ghazal (Luxury Safari Boat)
After boarding the boat, we start our journey south towards the temples of Kalabsha and Beit el Wali. We will serve lunch while we sail to the original site of the Kalabsha temple. Known as Mandoulis, Kalabsha dates back to Roman times. Equally important: The city of Kalabsha initially housed the temple, but authorities rescued and moved it to its current location. Pharaoh Ramses II carved Beit el Wali, meaning "house of the Saint," into the mountain. This time, we will anchor at Khour El Ghazal and enjoy a starlit dinner before retiring for the night. (L/D)
Day 2: Wadi El Seboua - Dakka – Meharraqa (Luxury Safari Boat)
We will have breakfast on board, than we resume our navigation. Today, we travel down Lake Nasser to discover three relocated temples known for their unique sculptures and delicate beauty. During the sail, we will pass the regions of Abu Steta and Maria on our way to Wadi El Seboua. Abu Steta, famous for its golden sand dunes and interesting birds such as Pelicans, Cormorans, and Flamingos (in certain seasons), offers stunning views. In fact, UNESCO and other global organizations moved these temples. We will anchor to visit Wadi El Seboua, Dakka, and Meharraqa. There will be lunch on board.
- Dakka (Greek: Pselchis): Nubian king Ergamenes II and Ptolemy II erected this temple, which Roman Emperors Augustus and Tiberius later refurbished.
- Wadi El Seboua: Pharaoh Ramses II built this temple, accessed through a pathway of sphinxes bearing his effigy, in dedication to the Gods Amun-Re and Ra.
At the present time, we will sail towards one of the most tranquil bays of the Nubian Lake, Wadi El Arab. Moving on, we head to the Amada Temple, with views of local fishermen’s houses along the way. Occasionally, we may see lake crocodiles surfacing for sunlight (in certain seasons). The day ends with a quiet sunset as we anchor in Amada for the night. We will serve dinner on board. (B/L/D)
Day 3: Amada – Pennout – El Derr (Luxury Safari Boat)
After breakfast on board, we visit the temples of Amada, Pennout, and El Derr. King Thutmose III and King Amenophis II built the temple of Amada, which ranks among the most interesting in Nubia. Ramses II built the temple of El Derr, dedicated to the God Amon, which later served as a church during the Coptic Era. Workers moved the tomb of Pennout block by block from the Nubian village of Aniba in order to bring it to its current location. We return to the boat for lunch on board and then head towards Kasr Ibrim. Finally, we will have dinner and spend the night nearby. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Kasr Ibrim – Abu Simbel (Luxury Safari Boat)
After breakfast on board, we explore Kasr Ibrim, the only monument on Nubian Lake that remains in its original location. It contains remains from Egypt’s Christian and Islamic periods, and the Ottomans transformed it into a fortress. We will serve lunch on board. As we venture through the Masmas area, home to numerous Nubian villages, we will soon see the Abu Simbel Temples emerging from the water. As night falls, we have the option of attending the Sound and Light Show at the temples. We will serve dinner and spend the night on board. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Abu Simbel – Check-out (Luxury Safari Boat)
After breakfast, you will check out from the boat. We dedicate this morning for the purpose of exploring the vast wonders of the Abu Simbel Temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. The twin temples, carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BC, serve as a lasting monument to the king and his queen. They commemorate his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. Ramses II dedicated the Great Temple at Abu Simbel to the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah. Indeed, it is considered one of the grandest and most beautiful temples in Egypt. Check-out. (B)

• Check-in time is on Day 1, before lunch. Check-out time is on Day 5, after breakfast.
• Comfortable clothing, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, a swimsuit, a camera, and any personal medication you may need. It is also advisable to bring a light jacket for cooler evenings.
• This tour involves walking and climbing steps at various archaeological sites. Guests should have a moderate level of fitness and be able to walk unassisted.
• The meals served on board include a variety of international and Egyptian cuisine. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.
• Yes, Wi-Fi is available on the boat, although the signal strength may vary in different locations along the journey. Not all day we have a signal.
