Day 1: Arrival in Muscat

Welcome to Muscat! Upon your arrival at the airport, our team will be there to meet and assist you. From there, we'll transfer you to your hotel where you can check in and unwind after your journey.

You'll have the rest of the day free to relax and explore the area around your hotel at your leisure. If you're feeling adventurous, you certainly want to take a stroll along the Corniche, a beautiful waterfront promenade offering stunning views of the sea and the city's skyline. Undoubtedly, culture and nature await you.

Day 2: Muscat Tour

Today, after breakfast, we'll embark on a guided tour of Muscat, the vibrant capital city of Oman.

For this purpose, our first stop will be the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the most iconic landmarks in Oman. People know this magnificent mosque  for its stunning architecture, intricate design, and grandeur. For this purpose, please remember to dress modestly, covering your arms and legs, and women are required to cover their hair with a scarf.

Furthermore, we'll head to Mutrah Souq, one of the oldest marketplaces in the Arab world. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the bustling alleyways, browse a variety of goods including traditional Omani handicrafts, jewelry, spices, and souvenirs.

After exploring the souq, we'll break for lunch at one of the local eateries, where you can sample delicious Omani cuisine.

In the afternoon, we'll visit the National Museum of Oman, where you can delve into the rich history and cultural heritage of the country. Without doubt, the museum houses a fascinating collection of artifacts, exhibits, and displays that showcase Oman's ancient civilization, traditions, and way of life.

After a full day of sightseeing, we'll return finally to our hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Muscat - Wadi Muadin

After breakfast, we'll depart Muscat and begin our outdoor adventure into the rugged beauty of Oman's landscape.

With this in mind, our first stop will be at Izki, where we'll take a leisurely walk through the ancient mud brick settlements, immersing ourselves in the rich history and culture of the region. To illustrate the beauty of the landscape, we'll proceed to Birkat Al Mawz. Afterwards, we'll explore the charming village of Harat As Sibani, surrounded by lush palm groves and verdant landscapes.

We'll enjoy lunch amidst this picturesque setting before continuing our journey to Wadi Muadin, our first camping destination. Nestled in the Hajar Mountains, Wadi Muadin offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Because tonight, we'll set up camp under the stars, you may enjoy a delicious dinner and the serenity of the desert night.

Day 4: Wadi Muadin - Hasat Bin Salt

Accordingly to our program, today, we'll have an early start as we leave our camp set up in Wadi Muadin and head to the vibrant Friday market in Nizwa. This bustling market offers a fascinating glimpse into Omani culture and tradition, as locals gather to buy and sell a variety of goods, from fresh produce to handmade crafts.

We visit Nizwa Castle and subsequently return to our campsite for lunch. Then, we'll pack up and continue our journey to Hasat Bin Salt, where we'll marvel at the prehistoric rock carvings that adorn the landscape.

In the same way like yesterday,  we'll set up camp amidst the rugged beauty of the desert and enjoy another night under the stars.

Day 5: Wadi Muadin - Balcony Walk - Wadi Nahkur

Our culture and nature adventure continues as we make our way to Jebel Shams, the highest peak in the Arabian Peninsula. Here, we'll embark on the Balcony Walk, a scenic hiking trail that offers breathtaking views of Wadi Ghul canyon.

The Balcony Walk is a moderate hike, suitable for all skill levels, and takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete. Along the way, we'll have plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photographs and immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

After the hike, we'll continue our journey to Wadi Nahkur, where we'll set up camp for the night. Surrounded by towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls, Wadi Nahkur is specifically a true oasis in the desert.

Tonight, we'll enjoy dinner around the campfire and share of course stories and experiences under the starlit sky.

Day 6: Bahla - Wadi Aswad

Today, we'll explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bahla Fort, a magnificent fortress that stands as a testament to Oman's rich history and architectural heritage. As we wander through the labyrinthine corridors and towering walls of the fort, we'll learn about its significance as a center of Ibadism and its role in shaping the region's cultural identity.

From Bahla, we'll journey onwards to Wadi Aswad, where we'll camp amidst the shifting sands of the Empty Quarter. Also known as the Rub al Khali, this vast expanse of desert is renowned for its stunning landscapes and unparalleled beauty. Here, we'll have the opportunity to witness the mesmerizing sight of endless sand dunes stretching to the horizon, a truly unforgettable experience.

Tonight, as we gather around the campfire, we'll marvel at the starry night sky above, free from the glare of city lights, and immerse ourselves in the tranquil ambiance of the desert.

Day 7: Wadi Aswad - Um al Samim

Today, we'll venture into the heart of the desert as we cross the legendary Um al Samim. following in the footsteps of the renowned British explorer Wilfred Thesiger. This vast expanse of quicksand, salt marshes, and towering sand dunes offers a glimpse into the harsh yet mesmerizing beauty of the desert landscape.

As soon as we traverse this rugged terrain, we'll be awed by the sheer scale and majesty of our surroundings, with every step revealing new wonders and surprises. Whether we navigate the treacherous sands or marvel at the expansive vistas stretching to the horizon, our journey through Um al Samim promises to be an unforgettable culture and nature adventure.

Tonight, we'll set up camp amidst the dunes, where we'll enjoy a traditional Omani dinner under the glittering canopy of stars, a fitting end to another day of exploration and discovery.

Day 8: Qurun El Fedah - Ramlet Abu Tabul - Ramlet Al Sahmah

As our journey through the desert continues, we'll make our way towards Qurun El Fedah, home to the spectacular star dunes that dominate the landscape. These towering dunes, sculpted by the wind and the shifting sands, offer a mesmerizing spectacle that is sure to leave us in awe.

From Qurun El Fedah, we'll journey onwards to Ramlet Abu Tabul and Ramlet Al Sahmah, where we'll explore the stunning sand dunes formations that characterize this unique desert landscape. Furthermore, we'll have the opportunity to witness the incredible natural phenomenon of singing sand dunes, where the shifting sands produce a melodic sound akin to the hum of a distant choir.

Tonight, we'll set up camp amidst the dunes, where we'll enjoy another magical evening under the vast desert sky. On this occasion, we listen to the music of the dunes as we reflect on the wonders of our journey.

Day 9: Ramlet Al Sahmah - Ramlet Mugshin

Our final day in the desert begins with a leisurely exploration of Ramlet Al Sahmah. So  we'll wander amidst the towering sand dunes and search for traces of ancient civilizations hidden beneath the shifting sands.

As we bid farewell to this enchanting landscape, we'll make our way to Ramlet Mugshin, where we'll set up camp for our last night in the desert. Here, surrounded by the serene beauty of the dunes, we'll take the time to savor the final moments of our desert adventure. To summarize our culture and nature adventure, we reflect on the memories we've made and the experiences we've shared.

As the sun sets on our journey, we'll gather around the campfire one last time. We share stories and laughter beneath the starlit sky. Tonight, as we drift off to sleep amidst the tranquil silence of the desert, we'll carry with us the memories of our time in this extraordinary land, forever etched in our hearts.

Day 10: Hayma - Jiddat al Harasis desert

Today, we'll take a brief pause from the wilderness to restock and refuel. Our journey leads us to the highway toward Al Ghaftayn, where we'll replenish our supplies and refuel. We reach Hayma, where we'll set up camp in the Jiddat al Harasis desert.

Jiddat al-Harasis is a stony desert in south-central Oman and it separates northern Oman from Dhufar. Indeed,this region boasts the largest strewn field of meteorites in the country. Over 160 bird species, including the endangered houbara bustard, inhabit the area, alongside Arabian oryx and Arabian gazelle. Just a short distance away lies the Wildlife Reserve which offers glimpses of Oman's diverse wildlife.

Day 11: Jiddat al Harasis desert - Al Haqf Depression

In the morning, we'll explore the wildlife reserve, where we may catch sight of Oryx and Gazelles roaming the landscape. Afterwards, we'll journey to the Al Haqf depression, where we'll establish our camp for the night.

Day 12: Al Haqf Depression - Wahiba Sands

Today, we embark on an adventure through the stunning Wahiba Sands and will navigate its captivating dunes. The orange-hued sands create a mesmerizing landscape, especially during sunrise and sunset. We'll enter from the western edge when we follow ancient local tracks to explore the diverse terrain.

Day 13: Wahiba Sands - Umm Adalian

Presently we traverse the vast and impressive linear dunes of the Wahiba Sands and make our way towards Umm Adalian. We follow a less-traveled route, away from the bustling permanent campsites. Tonight, we camp in a secluded spot and embrace the serenity of the desert one last time before we return to urban life.

Day 14: Umm Adalian - Wadi Bani Khaled - Muscat

This time, we experience another facet of Oman's natural beauty as we visit Wadi Bani Khaled. Here, we'll have the opportunity to swim in the refreshing natural pools and enjoy lunch amidst the picturesque surroundings. Finally, we make our way back to Muscat.

Day 15: Muscat - Airport

As our culture and nature journey draws to a close, we bid farewell to Oman. Transfer to Muscat International Airport for your departure. Safe travels! (B)

o The tour is best enjoyed during the cooler months of October to April when temperatures are milder. However, please note that the desert environment can still be hot during the day and cold at night, so come prepared with appropriate clothing.

o This tour involves camping in remote desert locations and moderate hiking in some areas. Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness and mobility to fully enjoy the experience.

o Accommodation during the tour includes camping in tents set up in designated camping areas. Please note that toilet facilities may not be available at all camping sites.

o We recommend packing lightweight, breathable clothing suitable for desert conditions, sturdy hiking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a refillable water bottle, and personal toiletries. Additionally, bring warm layers for cooler evenings and a sleeping bag for camping.

o While travel insurance is not mandatory, we highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and lost or damaged belongings.

o Yes, the tour package includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner as specified in the itinerary. Vegetarian and special dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.

o Our experienced guides are well-versed in desert travel safety and will provide instructions on staying safe in the desert environment. It's essential to follow their guidance, stay hydrated, and avoid wandering off alone in remote areas.

o Participants must be at least 18 years old to join the tour. However, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis with parental consent and supervision.

o While exploring Oman's deserts, you may encounter Arabian oryx, gazelles, and various bird species. Our guides will provide information on local wildlife and ensure a safe viewing experience.

o Participants are welcome to bring their own camping gear if preferred. However, tents and camping equipment will be provided as part of the tour package for convenience.
