On 2 August 2027, the Moon slides in front of the Sun and the Nile Valley falls into an eerie silver twilight, stars at midday, a sudden chill in the air, and the shimmering corona blazing where the Sun used to be.
This 7-day journey places you right in the path of totality in Assiut, the heart of Middle Egypt: far from the crowds, with time to prepare, to watch and to let the experience sink in.
Before and after the great day, discover the painted rock tombs of Beni Hassan and end your journey in Cairo at the spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum.
This trip is perfect for solo travelers wishing to stay at night in comfortable hotel.

Please note that international and domestic flights are not included in the quoted price. Airlines typically release their flight schedules and fares approximately one year in advance; therefore, flights for July - August 2027 are now available.
Should you wish to receive an offer for international or domestic flights, we kindly ask you to complete the flight request form on our website. Once flight options become available, we will prepare and forward an offer for your review.
Please be aware that submitting the request form does not constitute a booking order. We will only proceed with a flight reservation upon receiving your explicit written approval.
Furthermore, please note that flights are an external service provided solely by the airline, and Dabuka does not have control over airline-related matters. Any delays, schedule changes, or baggage issues fall under the responsibility of the operating carrier. We therefore recommend obtaining appropriate travel insurance should you wish to be covered for such circumstances.
We are also happy to provide personal consultations by appointment to help you choose the observation location that best suits your preferences and ensure an optimal eclipse experience.
Your adventure begins as you land in Egypt’s vibrant capital. We meet you at the airport and bring you to Villa Mango, a peaceful retreat where you can unwind after your flight.
Depending on arrival times, we gather for an informal welcome, a chance to meet your fellow travellers and get a first taste of the days ahead.
Overnight: Villa Mango, Cairo (BB)
After breakfast we leave the bustling metropolis behind and head south. Palm groves, green fields and mud-brick villages line the river as we travel deep into Middle Egypt, a region few visitors ever see.
In Assiut we check in at the Al Watany Palace Hotel. In the afternoon, our eclipse briefing prepares you for tomorrow:
Where we will observe, and why this spot.
The exact timeline of the eclipse, minute by minute.
Safe viewing and how to use your eclipse glasses
Tips for photographing totality.
Practical details for the early departure.
The evening is yours, perhaps for an early night before the big day.
Overnight: Al Watany Palace Hotel, Assiut (BB)
An early start, excitement in the air, as we drive to our observation site near Assiut. This morning belongs entirely to the sky.
As the Moon begins to bite into the Sun, the world around you slowly changes. The light turns strangely sharp and metallic, the temperature drops, shadows take on unusual shapes. Birds fall silent. The horizon glows in sunset colours all around you.
And then, in an instant, the Sun disappears.
TOTALITY.
For several breathtaking minutes, the solar corona unfolds its pearly light in a darkened sky. It is a sight people travel across the world for, and one you will never forget.
Duration and timings***
Duration of totality 6:23.4.

***The times given are local times. They may shift by one hour depending on whether Egypt observes daylight saving time at that time.
Afterwards we offer lunch before we return to the hotel. The afternoon is intentionally free: time to rest, to talk, to share photos and to relive the moment together.
Overnight: Al Watany Palace Hotel, Assiut (BB)
After the intensity of eclipse morning, today is deliberately unhurried. Enjoy a long breakfast and let the experience settle. If you feel like exploring, we can arrange optional activities, for example:
Discovering Assiut’s old town and lively local markets.
A leisurely walk along the Nile.
A short cultural or archaeological excursion.
Photography in the golden light of Middle Egypt.
Or simply relaxing at the hotel.
This flexible day also gives the journey a comfortable buffer, no rushing, no pressure.
Overnight: Al Watany Palace Hotel, Assiut (BB)
Heading back north, we stop at Beni Hassan – one of the hidden gems of ancient Egypt. High above the Nile, rock-cut tombs of the Middle Kingdom preserve astonishingly vivid scenes: farmers in the fields, hunters in the marshes, craftsmen at work, soldiers in training, and the famous wrestlers, captured in dozens of moves like an ancient comic strip.
Optional alternative: instead of Beni Hassan, travellers can choose Tell el-Amarna, the short-lived capital of the “heretic” pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti. As Amarna makes for a considerably longer day, we offer it as an alternative rather than combining both sites.
In the afternoon or evening we continue to Cairo.
Overnight: Pearl Hotel, Cairo (BB)
A grand finale: today is dedicated to the Grand Egyptian Museum at the foot of the Giza Plateau, the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilisation. Walk past colossal statues, discover the complete treasures of Tutankhamun and trace thousands of years of Egyptian history.
After watching the sky darken above Middle Egypt, this is the perfect way to close the circle: with the civilisation that for millennia looked up to the Sun as a god.
The afternoon and evening are free to explore Cairo at your own pace.
Overnight: Pearl Hotel, Cairo (BB)
After breakfast, we transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your journey home, with a memory card full of photos and a moment in your heart that will stay forever.
