On 2 August 2027, a total solar eclipse sweeps across Upper Egypt. This programme lets you experience it from one fixed, comfortable base in Sohag, no early starts, no last-minute repositioning, no convoy of buses on eclipse morning. You simply wake up on the Nile and watch the sky go dark.

What This Trip Is (and Isn't)

This is not a fully guided tour with a packed sightseeing schedule. It's designed for eclipse travellers who want a comfortable, well-organised framework combined with plenty of freedom and time for themselves. Our representative is with the group throughout the Sohag stay for transfers, practical support and questions, but there is no continuous guided sightseeing programme. Eclipse day itself is deliberately left open, watch from the hotel, walk down to the river, or simply relax by the Nile. For those who'd like to explore the region further, an optional excursion is offered on 3 August.

The Hotel

The Safa Hotel Sohag sits on El Gomhouria Street with a terrace directly over the Nile, around 80 rooms in total. It's a well-placed, comfortable base for the eclipse; The Safa Hotel is a comfortable local hotel rather than a luxury property. Its main advantage is its location directly on the Nile and its terrace overlooking the river.

Suneclipse viewing 

This eclipse viewing around Sohag is an independent experience, without a guided group setup. Guests can choose their own preferred observation point, either from a hotel rooftop or from selected locations within Sohag. The duration of the eclipse is identical across all viewing points in the area.

As this is not a guided tour, guests are free to decide individually where they would like to observe the eclipse.

For all bookings for the Sun Eclipse 2027 in Egypt, special payment and cancellation conditions apply.

Upon receipt of the booking confirmation or invoice, a deposit of 20% of the total price becomes due in between 10 working days. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 02 January 2027.

The following cancellation conditions apply:

Until 04 September 2026: 20% of the total travel price

From 05 September 2026: 75% of the total travel price

From 01 January 2027: 96% of the total travel price

Please note that international and domestic flights are not included in the quoted price. Airlines typically release their flight schedules and fares approximately one year in advance; therefore, flights for July - August 2027 will become available around September 2026.

Should you wish to receive an offer for international or domestic flights, we kindly ask you to complete the flight request form on our website. Once flight options become available, we will prepare and forward an offer for your review.
Please be aware that submitting the request form does not constitute a booking order. We will only proceed with a flight reservation upon receiving your explicit written approval.

Furthermore, please note that flights are an external service provided solely by the airline, and Dabuka does not have control over airline-related matters. Any delays, schedule changes, or baggage issues fall under the responsibility of the operating carrier. We therefore recommend obtaining appropriate travel insurance should you wish to be covered for such circumstances.

A Small Group, Personally Supported

This trip is currently limited to just 4 rooms. A representative of our company travels with the group and is on hand throughout the stay in Sohag, for practical matters, logistics, and questions, helping make sure everything runs smoothly.

If a suitable Cairo–Sohag flight becomes available closer to the date, we may also be able to offer it as an optional upgrade to the bus journey, subject to the flight actually operating and at an additional charge.
