Alexandria · Western Desert · Kharga Oasis · Assiut · Tell el-Amarna · Minya · Cairo
11 nights. One country. Three landscapes. One extraordinary eclipse.
27 July – 7 August 2027
A journey through a very different Egypt.
From the Mediterranean atmosphere of Alexandria, we travel deep into the Western Desert and the ancient Kharga Oasis. Roman temples, forgotten archaeological sites, desert landscapes and encounters with local experts lead us towards Assiut, where we establish our base for the Total Solar Eclipse of 2 August 2027, with 6 minutes 23 seconds of totality.
After the eclipse, the journey continues north along the Nile, with a visit to Tell el-Amarna and Minya, before ending in Cairo with the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Grand Egyptian Museum and an evening beside the Nile.
This is not a conventional Egypt tour, and it is not simply an eclipse trip either.
It is a journey through three very different landscapes, Mediterranean coast, Western Desert and Nile Valley, combining places rarely included in a standard Egypt itinerary with one of nature's most extraordinary events.
