Egypt along the Nile - Day 1: Journey from Cairo to Deir Abu Hinis

Firstly, our adventure begins at 8:00 a.m., with a convenient meeting point at Café Greco on Street 9 in Maadi. From there, we’ll embark on a scenic three-hour drive to our private farmhouse, where a peaceful retreat awaits. Upon arrival, we’ll check in and enjoy a delicious lunch, prepared to fuel us for the day’s activities.

After settling in, we’ll head out for a guided hike through the lush fields surrounding the farmhouse. Egypt along the Nile - here, you’ll immerse yourself in the daily lives of local farmers, experiencing their simple yet vibrant lifestyle firsthand. Take in the serene landscapes while you breathe the fresh air, and connect with the natural beauty of rural Egypt. As evening falls, we’ll return to the farmhouse or a nearby simple hotel for a cozy overnight stay, complete with a farm-fresh dinner to end the day.

Day 2: Exploring the Treasures of Deir Abu Hinis

The next morning, we’ll start with a hearty breakfast to energize us for another day of exploration. Our first adventure is a felucca ride across the Nile to Sheikh Abada. Here, we’ll visit a fascinating ruin site known as Martyr Hill, where remnants of ancient structures and stories await.

After exploring this historic site, we’ll journey to one of the oldest monasteries in the region. Obviously, the monastery offers a glimpse into Egypt’s early Christian history and allows for quiet reflection amid its ancient architecture.

With hearts full of memories and cameras full of photos, we’ll enjoy a final lunch together before our journey back to Cairo, feeling enriched by the landscapes, history, and culture we’ve encountered.
