Individual Egypt Round Trip: A Journey 30Years in the Making

A personal travel story written by a friend of ours.

This article was written by a close friend of our company, sharing his personal experience of an individual Egypt round trip.

His journey shows how deeply moving, diverse, and unforgettable a well-planned Egypt tour can be.

Discovering Egypt for the First Time

Thirty years passed between my first and second journeys to Egypt.

In 1995, after a demanding year both professionally and personally, I felt an urgent need to slow down and find peace. Almost by coincidence, I chose Egypt—booking a Nile cruise from Thebes to Aswan and back.

What began as a simple vacation quickly became something much more. Temple after temple, tomb after tomb, bazaar after bazaar, Egypt’s history and atmosphere captivated me completely.

That first Nile cruise was the beginning of a lifelong fascination.

A Growing Passion for Egypt

Back home, one Egypt travel guide soon turned into an entire collection of books, exhibitioncatalogues, and historical studies—now filling several meters of shelf space.

Yet it was obvious that my first trip had only revealed a fraction of Egypt:

  • no Cairo
  • no pyramids
  • no museums
  • no desert

For years, I knew I had to return—but timing never seemed right..

October 2025: The Perfect Individual Egypt Round Trip

Almost exactly 30 years later, in October 2025, I finally returned to Egypt.

This time, the journey was a fully customized individual Egypt round trip, professionally organized by Dabuka.Together with two friends, I explored:

Each destination was a highlight in its own right.

Visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum

The visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, shortly after its opening, was extraordinary.

Beyond the world-famous treasures of Tutankhamun, the museum building itself is a masterpiece—modern, spacious, and architecturally impressive.

Clear layouts, generous exhibition spaces, and well-designed pathways make it one of the most important cultural attractions in Egypt today.

A must-see for every Cairo itinerary.

Siwa Oasis and the White Desert: A Life-Changing Moment

One moment stood out above all others.

Only minutes after being in the oasis town of Siwa, I found myself surrounded by endless sand dunes. The desert glowed in shades ranging from white to deep rust, and there wascomplete silence—even the wind seemed to pause.

It was exactly how I had always imagined the desert. I felt as though I were inside an Orientalfairy tale and was so deeply moved that I immediately called my wife in Berlin.

Perfect Planning and Genuine Hospitality

This individual Egypt round trip was complex and demanding—but everything worked flawlessly:

  • private vehicles and experienced drivers
  • carefully selected accommodations
  • seamless schedules and entrance tickets
  • desert camping equipment
  • freshly prepared meals in the desert

Equally impressive were the warmth, patience, and dedication of everyone involved. Not a single wish remained unfulfilled.

Conclusion: Egypt Is Calling Again

One thing is certain:Another 30 years will not pass before I return to Egypt.

The Nile Delta is already on my list—and I am curious to see what the next journey willbring.

Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
