Desert Walk & Talk 2021

Our Ramadan special Iftar at Wadi Degla Park featured a unique experience. Guests hiked with UCL Emeritus Petri Professor Dr. Fekri Hassan, discovering untouched engravings hidden in the wadi. Afterward, they enjoyed a delicious outdoor Iftar buffet. The night walk, led by Dr. Sherif Baha el-Din, President of Nature Conservation Egypt (NCE), added a fascinating conclusion.

 

In the Garden Movie Nights 2021

Dabuka organized a series of movie nights at Maadi’s garden. Guests enjoyed a special book signing of “Sinai People Faces of Time” by Kathrin Sombold. They also watched the film “Into No Man’s Land” by Gabriel Michael. Special keynotes included Tarek Al Mahdy’s “My Libya Experience from 1993 to 2011 (Part I)” and a talk by Prof. Yasser El Shayeb on Scan Pyramids.

Once in a Lifetime Expeditions

Kamal Expedition 2014

The Kamal Expedition commemorated the anniversary of the memorial plaque of Prince Kamal El Din Hussein. He discovered the Gilf Kebir Plateau in the Western Desert of Egypt in 1925. Visit Kamal Expedition for more details.

2014 – Walking the Nile Expedition

Walking the Nile Expedition 2014

Levison Wood attempted to become the first person to walk the entire length of the Nile. Starting in Rwanda in December 2013, he finished in Egypt in 2014. Sponsored by BBC Channel 4, Wood’s journey covered 4,250 miles across six countries. Dabuka supported Wood’s expedition in Egypt.

2013 – Rowing on the Nile

  • A Dutch-German-Egyptian cooperation, rowing from Luxor to Cairo.
  • 2012 – Ralley London – Capetown  Supported and organized in Egypt by Dabuka.
  • Pyramids Scanning Project 2015-2017: Logistics for the French-Canadian project.
  • Gipfelstürmer Film 2013: An Austrian Production of the ORF 2009.
  • The Planet of Sparrows” 2011-2012: A Kurt Mayer production, supported by Dabuka.
  • NASA Scientific Field Trip 2009: Supported by Dabuka.
  • Jordan Expeditions 2009: Operated trips covering the country in two weeks.
  • Meteorite Crater Field Research 2006: Conducted with the French CRNS in southwest Egypt.
  • Tenere Desert Trip 2005: Operated in Niger.
  • Sudan Expeditions 2003-2008: Reached borders with Egypt, Chad, and Ethiopia.
  • Great Sand Sea Expedition 1999: Transported a dismantled ultra-light plane into the desert for aerial shots in “Schwimmer in der Wüste”
  • Gebel Elba Mountain Trip 1998: A 26-day expedition to the Halaib triangle.
  • Libya Expeditions 1996-2011: Covered nearly 90% of Libya’s area.
  • Desert Scientific Cooperation 1996: Handled logistics for the Free University of Berlin and the Egyptian Desert Research Centre.

Our equipment: Fleet

Vehicles (1996-2012)

We started with Toyota Landcruisers HJ 80 and increased steadily with HJ 60 and HJ 80 models.

 


New Fleet (2008-2015)

We introduced a new fleet of specially equipped Toyota Landcruisers HJ 76 and Toyota Double Cabine Pick-ups.

 

 


Expanded Fleet (2010 ongoing)

We expanded our fleet with Sedan cars and Mini-Vans.
