 Muscat to Shanah - Day 1

  • Firstly, begin your Oman Desert Safari in Muscat and travel to Shanah. Secondly, visit an important prehistoric rock art site along the way, with attention to discover engravings of ibex and horse riders. Afterwards, continue to Wahiba Sands and camp among towering dunes.

Exploring Wahiba Sands - Day 2

  • While you follow the local track along linear dunes, you move from north to south. Cross west to a picturesque area of barchan dunes for our campsite. Experience the diverse dune formations and famous racing camels.

 Hamra Ad Duru - Day 3

  • Drive towards Hamra Ad Duru and set up camp. Enjoy also traditional Omani hospitality as much as possible, with potential breakfast invitations from local families.

Fahud and Wadi Aswad - Day 4

  • Journey to Fahud, the site of Oman’s first oil discovery. After refueling, continue to Wadi Aswad and thereafter camp amidst beautiful dunes.

Umm Al Samim - Day 5

  • Presently cross the challenging area of Umm Al Samim, known for its formidable salt swamps. Adjust the route if the area is wet. Camp near a recently discovered landmark.

Star Dunes - Day 6

  • Explore the southeastern Empty Quarter and camp near majestic star dunes. In effect, the orange sand here originates from the Dhofar and Hajar Mountains.

White Baby Dunes - Day 7

  • This time head south towards Al Sahma sands, navigating through beautiful white baby dunes. Camp near the main road.

Muqshin Wadi - Day 8

  • Refresh supplies at a fuel station before camping at Muqshin Wadi, known for its giant acacia jungle.

Mega Dunes Country - Day 9

  • Continue to the mega dunes country and set up camp in a spectacular location. Enjoy especially long walks and dune climbing.

Dune Exploration - Day 10 & 11

  • Spend two days exploring the area straightaway, finding new routes through the dunes away from the graded track.

Arrival in Salalah - Day 12

  • Finally conclude your journey in Salalah, where we drive you to your hotel.

Important Information:

  • Our tour starts in Muscat and ends in Salalah. Flights should arrive in Muscat and depart from Salalah.
  • Crew and cars will drive back to Muscat if anyone prefers to travel back with us.
  • The Empty Quarter is challenging due to extreme heat. We only explore this area in January and February. All travelers should take precautions for desert travel regardless of experience level.

Booking and Cancellation Policy:

  1. Reservation Confirmation:

    • We require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total tour cost to secure your booking.
    • The remaining balance must be paid in full 60 days before the tour start date.
  2. Payment Methods:

    • You can do your payments via bank transfer, credit card, or PayPal.
    • All payments must be made in US Dollars ($).
  3. Late Bookings:

    • If you do your booking less than 60 days before the tour start date, full payment is required at the time of booking.
  4. Travel Insurance:

    • We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. Traveler:

    • More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit (25% of the total tour cost).
    • 30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost.
    • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total tour cost (no refund).
  2. Operator:

    • In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the tour due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund of all payments made.
    • We are not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by you, such as non-refundable airline tickets, travel insurance, or other personal expenses.
  3. Changes and Amendments:

    • If you wish to make changes to your booking (such as altering travel dates), requests must be made in writing and will be subject to availability and any applicable fees.
    • We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, safety concerns, or other factors beyond our control.
  4. Force Majeure:

    • Any delays, changes, or cancellations caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, war, civil unrest, or any other events are beyond our control. In such cases, we will make every effort to offer suitable alternatives or reschedule the tour.
