The Lake Nasser Yoga Retreat invites you into a rare combination of yoga, timeless landscapes and the deep stillness of Egypt’s southern desert. Over 11 days, you sail aboard the Dabuka Blue, a traditional boat designed for comfort, quiet and uninterrupted views across one of the world’s most untouched lakes.

Guided by Isabelle Morin Larbeye, each yoga session unfolds in natural light—on deck at sunrise, on the shore beside ancient temples, or during soft evening glow. This journey blends movement, rest, cultural discovery and a deep connection to nature.

Lake Nasser Yoga Retreat Aboard the Dabuka Blue

Day 1 – Arrival in Aswan

Arrival at Aswan Airport and transfer to the Dabuka Blue.
After settling into your cabin, visit the Temple of Kalabsha, relocated during the construction of the Aswan High Dam and renowned for its harmonious sandstone architecture.
Evening yoga session and dinner on board.

Day 2 – Bab Kalabsha

Begin the day with sunrise yoga on deck.
The navigation continues toward Bab Kalabsha, a region with striking desert panoramas and calm waters—ideal for deep breathing and quiet reflection.
Optional afternoon walk along the shore.

Day 3 – Garf Hussein

Sail south to Garf Hussein, home to a temple dedicated to Ramses II.
Enjoy a restorative yoga session, a refreshing swim or free time for silent contemplation.

Day 4 – Wadi el-Sebua Temple Complex

Navigation toward Wadi el-Sebua, known for its impressive avenue of sphinxes and remarkably preserved reliefs.
Yoga session on shore or sunset practice on deck.

Day 5 – A Day of Serenity on Lake Nasser

A full day dedicated to yoga, rest and gentle exploration.
Swim in the clear waters, read on deck or join a short hike along the rocky shoreline between sessions.

Day 6 – Qasr Ibrim (FB)

Arrive at Qasr Ibrim, the only Nubian monument still standing at its original location after the flooding.
Learn about its unique history before returning to the deck for an evening meditation.

Day 7 – Abu Simbel (FB)

Navigate onward to the majestic Abu Simbel temples, a masterpiece of Ramses II carved directly into the cliff face.
Guided visit with time to explore independently.
Optional: Sound & Light Show at the temple.

Day 8 – Northern Navigation: Day of Reflection

Begin the peaceful northbound journey.
This full navigation day is perfect for extended yoga sessions, pranayama and a quiet atmosphere for reflection and gratitude.

Day 9 – Amada Temple Complex

Stop at Amada, the oldest and best-preserved temple on Lake Nasser, admired for its delicate colors and elegant inscriptions.
Yoga and relaxation by the water.

Day 10 – Island Retreat (FB)

Anchor near one of Lake Nasser’s small islands—an ideal location for swimming, journaling and quiet solitude.
Closing circle and final sunset yoga session with Isabelle.

Day 11 – Return to Aswaan 

Morning navigation toward Aswan.
Breakfast on board, disembarkation and transfer to Aswan Airport.
Extensions in Egypt can be arranged on request.

You will stay on the Dabuka Blue, a comfortable traditional boat. All cabins have private bathrooms and air conditioning.
How do I get to the retreat?
The starting point is Aswan, Egypt. We recommend flying to Aswan and arranging an airport pick-up. This pick-up is included in the price. Detailed travel information will be provided after booking.

What clothing and equipment should I bring?
Comfortable, breathable clothing for yoga; lightweight outdoor wear for excursions; sun protection; a hat; sunglasses; and swimwear. Yoga mats are available on board.
Is the retreat suitable for solo travelers?
Yes! The retreat is ideal for solo travelers as well as couples or small groups. Cabins can be booked as single or double rooms.
What is the climate like on Lake Nasser?
During this time of year, days are usually pleasantly warm, while evenings can be cooler. We recommend light clothing for the day and a sweater for the evening. Sun protection is essential.
