Our Company is one of the first companies if not the first company that has introduced “Sustainable Tourism” and “Eco Tourism” long before it became a vogue term.

Definition of Sustainable Tourism (wie bei der WTO)

“Tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.”

Definition of Eco Tourism (wie bei der WTO)

“All nature-based forms of tourism in which the main motivation of the tourists is the observation and appreciation of nature as well as the traditional cultures prevailing in natural areas.”

Grundsätze: Unterschied zwischen Ökotourismus und nachhaltigem Tourismus (nach WTO)

The principles of sustainable tourism were defined by WTO as early as 1988; sustainable tourism is “envisaged as leading to management of all resources in such a way that economic, social and aesthetic needs can be fulfilled while maintaining cultural integrity, essential ecological processes, biological diversity and life support systems”. A clear distinction should be made between the concepts of ecotourism and sustainable tourism: the term Ökotourismus selbst bezieht sich auf ein Segment innerhalb des Tourismussektors, während die Nachhaltigkeitsgrundsätze sollte für alle Arten von touristischen Aktivitäten, Aktivitäten, Einrichtungen und Projekten gelten, einschließlich konventioneller und alternativer Formen.
